Broken Words

Some words are like pieces of broken glass.  I bleed each time I pick them up Yet I collect those with tear in the eyes  And pain in the heart But no matter how hard I try The shards slip out of my hands Leaving cuts in the hands And this is not a menial job, It requires skill and patience Lest you bleed until the end

Dream Poem

I always knock on the door of your dream And when you hear that sound, You wake up then and there Leaving me and your dream in the lurch

The Mango Tree

Darkling, the howling wind followed a meandering course like a gushing river which takes twists and turns often. It sometimes kept a steady path, sometimes veered off. It embraced the Mango tree by infiltrating through the gaps between the leaves. As the wind made the leaves dance, the tree began to chatter and the chattering became a cachinnation.  And then the wind was freed from the tree and it entered the decaying old house through the opened windows and it rummaged through every room in the house and at last found the solitary oldster sitting on his easy chair with eyes closed. The wind gently ruffled his hair and lingered there for a while. Slowly he opened his eyes and a pensive mournfulness was there on his face while he was looking at the tree through the opened window. The tree was showered in the moonlight. The chattering of the tree continued and it seemed like the tree was calling the old man. Their silent conversation prolonged and at last he rose slowly and walked to...

Serendipity

To ... Flowers that forgot to blossom  Rains that hesitated to pour down Melodies that weren't composed Distances that weren't covered  Love that was unrequited  And a lot more other things Still, I miss you… November Winds And again the November winds and misty mornings Fluttering butterflies and rapturous bees And a carpe diem is ringing inside me Haven't you heard the minstrel melody that the wind brings? Serendipity A sojourn in the serendipitous moment Radiates the essence of spring Even in this winter solstice and hence Blessed are the days and the nights serene Melody I've nothing to say to you  Yet, sit with me  Here on this bank of the sacred Nila Let's listen to the divine melody of the river And if you are bored, leave me there Without even saying a goodbye… Immortal Darkling I will be a nocturnal listener Of the bygone lores that the wind brings Since time immemorial and When I embrace the cool breeze, I feel I am connected with whole history As the...

Amnesty

Time has taken away the smile from our lips Spark from our eyes Soul from our bodies Still we exist, don't we? And they have kept the white pigeons In their private cubicles To release as a gesture of amnesty After shedding the blood enough After perishing the lives enough After demolishing the monuments of human efforts  After destroying the natural resources And when the air has been contaminated by The debris of the nukes They will talk about amnesty They will begin to think about peace Will we be alive to see the flying doves then?

Hesperides

Oh! Hesperides Evince your presence Afore you evade my eyes And in this melody too, I'm in search of you The time is a verse Written in enjambment And I'm running out of it The dusk is darkening In my life's horizon And before I end  My ephemeral composition Bless me with your presence
